The Boat

A boring wreck in the sea? Just some waste? That was my first thought. After I launched my drone and took a closer look, I could not believe my eyes.

The Boat
Only a very small part of the boat was visible above the water surface, the rest lay underwater. Combined with the rocky structure of the seabed, this created stunning images.

I visited the place in the late afternoon, just about an hour before sunset. The light was so beautiful that I decided to return the next morning for sunrise.

The next day, early in the morning, the light conditions were completely different. The sun was still below the horizon, the sea calm and steady.
Some campers had spent the night right next to the sea and next to “The Boat”. I’m not sure they knew what they missed.
Before sunrise the colors were soft shades of blue, turning into green and turquoise as the sun rose above the horizon. The colors reminded me of those found in the Caribbean Sea. The gentle waves gave the images a mood that feels similar to watercolor artwork.

The Fine Art Print Collection “The Boat” consists of ten artworks in different formats. Landscape, portrait and cinematic panorama shots are all part of the series.
