This Artwork’s Story
This photograph captures two simultaneous transitions — from water to land, and from shadow to light. Taken in the early morning, just after sunrise, it preserves the fleeting moment when the sun crests the mountain ridges in the distance and the shadows begin to withdraw from the lake’s surface.
The scene unfolds in delicate gradients: the soft turquoise of the water meets the textured shoreline, where minerals and sediments trace time in layered patterns. Above, the landscape shifts from the cool blues of receding shadow to the warm, golden hues of new light.
Balancing abstraction and realism, Between Light and Land reveals the poetry of natural transformation. A quiet interplay between stillness and motion, darkness and illumination.
