About this Artwork
France | Corsica, Rotondo Massif
Lac du Nino lies at 1,700 metres on the Plateau de Camputile in Corsica's Rotondo Massif. It is one of the island's oldest glacial lakes, and over thousands of years its edges have silted up with peat and sediment. What has grown in that space are the pozzines: flat bog meadows threaded with small water holes the Corsicans call pozzi, meaning small wells.
Each hole connects to the next through narrow channels carved by snowmelt moving through soft peat. This image shows the meadow at its most abstract and saturated - a dense, lime-green carpet punctuated by dark water pockets scattered like brushstrokes across a flat canvas. It is a landscape that only reveals itself from the air.
This print works in spaces that reward quiet attention: a living room with natural materials, a study, a contemporary office, or a hotel room that should feel like somewhere particular.
