About this Artwork
France | Corsica, Rotondo Massif
The pozzines around Lac du Nino sit at 1,700 metres in Corsica's Rotondo Massif. They are flat, acidic bog meadows formed over millennia as glacial sediment filled the edges of the lake. Snowmelt carves narrow channels through the soft peat, linking each small pool to the next. The Corsicans call these holes pozzi - small wells.
Here the light catches the raised turf edges, giving depth to each pool. The rounded, olive-rimmed water holes read less like a flat pattern and more like a living, sculptural surface - you sense the weight of the moss banks, the stillness of the water below. It is a landscape that only reveals itself from the air.
This print works in spaces that reward quiet attention: a living room with natural materials, a study, a contemporary office, or a hotel room that should feel like somewhere particular.
